This blog started as a New Year’s resolution in 2023. Since then, it has become a personal archive of music, opinions and writings. Everything here is accessible, downloadable and quotable.

Given the insanely small following this blog has, I’m sure you know who I am already. If you don’t, I’m a very underground music producer, DJ and social scientist; currently undertaking a DPhil in Human Geography at the University of Exeter. I DJ and produce under the alias Nagz, performing in London and across the South-West whilst releasing songs on multiple platforms.
I am a PhD candidate at the University of Exeter, where I previously completed both my BA (Hons) and MRes degrees in Human Geography. Currently funded by the South West Doctoral Training Partnership (SWDTP), my research explores the intersection of identity and access to digital markets within subcultural economies, particularly focusing on the Drum & Bass scene. Having worked as a music producer and DJ, I have first-hand experience navigating such hybrid social networks. My academic interests span musical geographies, digital geographies, cultural economies, subcultural theory, and more-than-representational theory, and my work aims to provide insights into how factors such as gender, sexuality, and race shape participation in these creative industries. This blog simultaneously encourages me to read more and think critically. If you are a geography student, please don’t hesitate to get in touch or download my freely accessible essays.
If for any reason you should need to contact me for personal or academic help, please use the form at the bottom of the homepage. Alternatively, contact me on social media using the icons below.
